Having a high-end décor or furnishings for your dining room is a dream that everyone wants. So here we have 7 tips that will help you design a beautiful dining room, even if you just want to give your dining room just a little facelift that matches your budget.

Declutter
For tip number one, declutter your dining room. Unfortunately many of our dining rooms become dumping stations. So the first thing you do is organise it- clear out the clutter and drill it in your mind that the room is not going to be a dumping ground for papers, shoes and knick-knacks. It is sometimes hard to decide what you can keep and what needs to go, but be firm and make that decision without any hesitations.

Paint
For tip number two, it’s going to be paints. Nothing transforms a room quickly and more beautifully than paint. Choose a vibrant colour. It is sometimes extremely difficult to decide on a shade. So, here’s a few quick tips on how to choose your paint. Firstly, if there is a certain colour you like, for example, certain shade of blue; choose about three different colours of blue in the same hue, paint them on a sample, bring them home, put them on your wall and look at them in the day time and in the evening. Here’s another trick put up your sample against a white paper and look at the difference in the shade which will ultimately decide how bright or dark that shade is going to look on your wall.

Furniture
Tip number 3 is furniture. Now, typically when you’re designing your dining room from scratch, it is a good idea to have a side-board or buffet rather than a huge hutch. Most dining rooms aren’t very large so a hutch takes up a lot of space and tends to just shrink the room. One of the more Important reason to have a side board or a buffet is that you can add buffet lamps on them and that just adds a beautiful ambience to the whole dining space.

Now if you have already got furniture, and they are beautiful to look at, all you need to do is just update it a little bit. Keep the table and the chairs on the side but then switch out with captain’s chair on the end. Alternatively you can use a parson’s chair or upholstered chair which really softens the look of your dining space. If you do not want to change your dining furniture, paint it with the colour you want and it brings about an amazing difference to your dining furniture, giving it an exquisite make-over.

Lighting
Tip number 4 is lighting. It can make a huge difference in a room if your chandelier is up-to-date and you have one in your budget. It is amazing how updating your light fixture can really change the entire design of the room. Buffet lamps, we think are so important in a dining room because if you only have overhead-lighting, you devoid yourself of that warm and cosy feeling that a dining room should have.

Windows and curtains
The fifth tip is about window treatments. They make one of the biggest impacts in a room, especially in a dining room. If you paint your dining room walls, your widow is going to be the only pattern design in the room. Always hang the curtains above your window, as high as you can so as to bring eyes up on the wall.

Wall Décor
Tip number six is wall décor. Typically a mirror in the dining room above the buffet is a good choice because as you come in through the front door there is a dining room either on the left or on the right side, so as you’re coming right into the foyer, the mirror just reflects everything from the foyer and makes the whole room look really big. If you don’t want to put a mirror above the buffet, it is a perfect place to put some beautiful artwork. For the rest of the walls, you just put on any decorative items that would put a positive vibe in the room. Just remember, not to clutter the walls and keep all artwork in relation to the scale of the room.

Accessories
Number seven is accessories. It is best advised to keep accessories as minimalistic as possible in a dining room. A beautiful carpet or a vase with beautiful flowers is enough to adore your dining table or your buffet.
